well this cynicism towards the stock market is damaging to the USA as a whole. There is absolutely nothing wrong with paying 25-50x earnings for growth stocks. There is no reason to swear off stocks entirely, but the problem is, the fed is so horribly mismanaged with these huge deficits and crashing dollar (causing inflation) that the entire market is a short. It doesn't matter how well individual companies perform.

Without a good stock market (this is the worst stock market I have ever seen, in my life)- new companies have no exit strategy. I'm not talking about junk I'm talking about good companies. Unless your startup gets bought by google or news corp, you have no future whatsoever.

I don't agree with Dent and others about stock market potential but on the other hand permabears like Fleckelstein and Hickey are just as bad the other way.

Bush and his policies to basically start wars and liquidate the treasury to buy votes have been a disaster. I think he is a lame duck now but unless we get a better congress in November there is still more damage that can occur.
