The UN did nothing more that acknowledge that we invaded Iraq and have the responsibility to behave according to international law insofar as invaders have obligations to countries they occupy -- something that the Supreme Court of the United States has now ruled on as well, finding that we have NOT been acting in accordance with international law with respect to the way we treat prisoners. The US invasion of Iraq was never authorized by the UN and was conducted in violation of international law.
