I never read the book- but I found the movie very inspirational. The acting is very good.

For me, when I read a book, I decide what a character looks like. Books can take minutes and minutes to describe a scene, or a person, and stuff like that.
A movie doesn't have that advantage. It can't dawdle.
In a book we can lay back and make up the scenery and visuals ourselves, and take our time at it.
The movie version has to be shorter. No choices. Chop chop.
So a book is generally better than the movie version can be.
