Extremism overruling belief in one’s natural human nobility is the culprit here, not science, not god(s), not principle or beliefs per se. ”…when man's mind is not entrapped in the tyranny of belief and the tyranny of another of a long line of ancient embedded oriental mythologies of "God" . Coercion from external authority whether it is governmental, social doctrine, religious dogma or pressure from the elite and powerful, is no different than the oppression of a brutal dictator. Loyalty to tribe, religion, race, national origin, extreme liberal chaos, extreme oppressive totalitarianism, etc. is a false sense of devotion to the banners of some group. It is this very commitment to the external formulations of order that tends toward corruption to an extreme. The cost is a principled identity of self. When the internal locus of fidelity is to intelligent and principled communion with others for the sake of common humanity, the likelihood of creating chasms between groups is reduced; just as it is widened by expressions of devotion to less deserving tenets.
