We should simply be asking whether or not we can ameliorate damage before we release every invention onto the world, but we don't. That's one reason why I support a society where the difference between winning and losing is not so dramatic. That way there is less reason for anyone to try and get a personal advantage out of their developments, and more reason to get a general advantage. Right now, in America, the best way to advance your kids and genes and ideas is to take advantage of an individual opportunity in the hopes of providing a multi-generational advantage in money and power to them. In societies like Sweden, the best way to advance your kids, genes, or ideas is to promote the future of Sweden as a whole. TP

Rabbi Hillel said something like: Who am I? Who am I for if I am not for my self? What am I? What am I if I am not for others? He learned it from an old Greek Philosopher , that you can be sure of as much as the big bang and the beginning of time .... ;) *tough world out there lately in the ME ...what do they want , and why these methods of getting it ? Is there a need for a second prophet /messiah because the 1rst & last 1 failed ? Something too petrified and unchanging in the scriptures? Science at least can question itself, admit to its own ignorance .... grow/unfold and encourage new dialogues embrace new data , know the essence of all men and view the universe in wider terms that far better describe what is truer than all the old revelations of religion could ever do . That there is more "good" in mans "religions" is an ancient romantic /persisting propaganda based on fear .
