It wouldn't violate the rules I live by. When you are posting ideas they don't identify any particular person, or single one person out in any way, and I think that's what we need to avoid- most especially when we are talking about people from other threads. I think we should go after ideas rather than people- and by talking about the idea, rather than the person, that's what we accomplish.

Just my opinion, and just the way I work things out for myself.

You are being very generous calling those three phrases "arguments" - a more direct reply is:

1. Totally unproven assertion as a response to someone criticizing US war crimes. Assumes a lack of concern not clearly excluded in the initial declaration.

2. Also totally unproven on similar grounds as above.

3. Given the amount of firepower directed at Muslims since 9/11 and even before, the idea that a deterrent lesson would be effective is utterly unproven and basically foolish in light of the evidence.
