I see that Eleutheria has started the same type of thread where a pretense is made to open and fair discussion but where the whole series of interchanges is an exercise in ego gratification and where the threat of being muzzled is waved in mockery in front of the thread participants. Reading through the thread (which I just did over a couple of hours) is a sickening experience. The bully (just as in Baker) gloats over her power to be arbitrary and to use her position to demand that others jump through whatever hoops she constructs--ad hoc hoops which do not apply to the bully. For bullies, SI has become a playground in which to exercise their grandiose egos and their "power" over others. The goal of legitimate debate and interaction has given way to motives of ego gratification, bullying, and childish cruelty. Powerless and hostile people have always stewed in their resentments and jealousies. They have always hoped for a magic button to "get even" with those they resent and to empower a fragile sense of being in the world. Now they have the magic and look at them go to town!
