Stevens is an absolute idiot. He has not made sense in about ten years....a king of pork...but defends it all and claims to be a fiscal conservative...Amazing. Remember his pouty speech that if the Senate took back funding for his precious bridge to nowhere, he would pick up his marble and go home? Too bad he didn't. Until guys like him are either controlled by the leadership or voted out (fat chance in Alaska), the republicans can't claim any justification as the party of fiscal responsibility.
