And have happened. The only difference is that there were those like DeLay who started out with the expressed purpose of corrupting the system. I don't hold that as representative of the Republicans, but it sure overshadows the ones that are.

File it under important lessons learned. I've always had a tendency to vote for the party out of power. In Texas, until recently, that meant I often voted Republican. I don't do that as much any more.
