I don't support minimum wages either.

I don't think the government properly has any natural right/power to do either, and the constitution doesn't give the federal government power to regulate wages.

Also I'm against price controls (floors or ceilings), because they are normally harmful and that includes wage controls, wages are the price paid for labor.

But if your going to have one or the other, I think the argument is better for minimum wages. You can at least argue that you are trying to help keep a working man out of horrible poverty. With maximum wages the only motivation seems to be jealousy. ("We're not going to let you have that much!".)

Also just in terms of public opinion I imagine minimum wages would get much more support that maximum wages.
