So seem to be thinking of Junior George but using Gore and Kerry's names. What a strange thought process. Gore has been pushing for solar and wind energy for many years, while Kerry has been pushing for oil conservation through consumption taxes. It is Junior George who has been reactionary on this issue, only trying to burn the limited oil supplies at an ever faster rate.

Al, the point is that guys like Gore and Kerry would have been way too scared to enact painful measures to get us off of oil.

Excuse me but would you talk like a man who got his 4 year degree from Cornell. "Way to scared to enact painful measures"..........huh??? Clinton/Gore tried to enact such legislation for 8 years and got rejected by the GOP Congress. Whose 'afraid' of conservation is the GOP, not liberals. However, I don't think afraid is the right word.......rather they are like a drunk or a food lover who don't want to deny themselves their fix.

The Strategic Petroleum Reserve is nothing except an example of how those two would have been nothing but spineless reactionaries.

Huh? Whose reviewing your posts? rove?!!

Exactly what "painfuf" measures have been enacted by bush?

I happen to think that both gore and kerry would have been more likely to think outside the box than two oil guys like bush and cheney
