That is a possibility, but the dems would need a landslide of sorts, a complete upset, so what could cause an upset like that?

Want to bet? I predict the GOP will still control everything after the 2006 elections - there is no underestimating the stupidity of the American public.

I'm reminded of a letter FDR wrote in 1924:
hnn.us

"I remarked to a number of friends that I did not think the nation would elect a Democrat again until the Republicans had led us into a serious period of depression and unemployment", FDR, Dec 9, 1924

Those words are probably true today too ... and also apply to the House and Senate.
