Clinton/Gore tried to enact such legislation for 8 years and got rejected by the GOP Congress. Specifics? Come on........you want me to ferret out specific legislation? Just one for now because I am not in the mood to do your homework.......gas mileage standard for the EPA.......ongoing fight between Clinton.....Clintonians were pushing for higher; the GOP for lower. The GOP didn't want to offend their constituents......GM and Ford.
