Had the federal government spent some money on infrastructure or research projects instead of using the entire surplus and more to be spent on housing price inflation, then the resession would have been shorter and the rebound greater.

CJ, let me restate. Some on this thread think that government should not have done anything to ease or shorten the recession following the dot-com bust.

Who thought that way? I never saw anyone post that response to the 2001 recession.
