Polish and German generals trained the Contiental Army. (I don't remember the spellings of their names.) The Polish General was Thaddeus Kosciuszko. The Prussian General was Baron von Steuben. Milwaukee, which had a large inflow of Polish and German immigrants beginning 100-150 years ago, has a park or monument to both of these men. The energy policies of Germany and Russia are currently major headaches for the Poles.
