I like the lion

yes, no one else I know has any of the pieces [now except you] and people always remark on them

then I get to tell them my trip to austria

I also picked up a 6 vol Heinrich Heine set of the MOST beautiful books I've ever seen - the workmanship is unbelievable - the covers stunning, deeply embossed in gold and black filigree, intricately designed, with an oval portrait of Heine centered - the edges are marbled instead of gilded - each page has some type of etching

though the set is over 125 years old, there is no foxing

the Austrians preserve and care for everything very well

“I have come to believe that the whole world is an enigma, a harmless enigma that is made terrible by our own mad attempt to interpret it as though it had an underlying truth.”
