Do you see hardcore proof that Hezbollah is financed by Iran?

As much as I have seen it repeated, the details always seem to be a bit unclear. Yesterday, for example, a British M.E. expert cited Iranian financial support, but then explained that while estimates were between $100 - $200 million per year, the situation was far from transparent.

Is this a story that has been repeated so many times that everyone believes it is true, or are there hard facts in support?

AFAIK, Israel has engaged with Lebanon many times including the incursion in the early 1980's, but it seems like direct confrontations with Syria have been pretty minimal. Do you think Syria's military could last more than a few hours against the Israelis?

Bombing the Beirut airport, blocking ports, etc seems a bit heavy handed. IMHO, it is possible that Israel is attempting to draw in Syria or Iran, i.e. Israel is ready for serious war as opposed to some skirmishes.

I'm comfortable with oil sands and physical gold here, but pessimistic about the overall situation.
