<dismantle their WMD program to the satisfaction of the UNSC> To the satisfaction of whom??? The UNSC did NOT back the invasion of Iraq. Aside from the sheer stupidity on our part for this idiotic and inept invasion, the farce portrayed by the war lobby that this was somehow agreed upon by the UNSC is total fabrication. The US struggled mightily to get a resolution through the UNSC and failed miserably. Having failed to act through the UN, the US took it upon itself to unilaterally invade another country. This act of hostility has completely backfired -- there were no children flying kites and the faked attempts to make it seem like we were welcomed in Iraq were paper thin and soon became obvious to all. We took a weak country that posed no threat and killed tens of thousands of people and spent hundreds of billions of dollars and shredded our credibility while taking our eye off of the real terror threats -- in short, we pursued the most stupid and ill-advised policy option available to us. Every single individual who pushed for this invasion owes the American people a deep apology.
