Lizzie -

I think it's actually pretty cool. It's a portable, which I didn't get on first glance. Not really designed as a notebook, but rather a full-power system that you can easily move from place to place. Folds up into a briefcase kind of thing. (I do notice that they don't give the weight.

It has a 20.1 inch widescreen display, a full size detachable wireless keyboard with integrated touchpad, and it can have two hard drives, for up to 240GB of storag. They can be striped (RAID 0) or mirrored (RAID 1) if you want. Plus up to 4B of RAM, an array microphone, built-in video camera, eight speakers and subwoofer, multimedia remote, etc.

I haven't seen anyting exactly like it from anyone. Can this be a case of *gasp* innovation from Dell?

Admittedly, it's not as cool looking as it would have been if Apple had designed it, but it's still an interesting product. If it weren't for the fact that the silly thing can't run OS X, I might like to have one.

dell.com.

(snicker)

BTW this is their hyped up XPS gamer line. This is as good as it gets at dell for design. sheesh.

Looks like a fairly good design in my view, especially from Dell, but the price is high, even for a 20". A couple of interesting points is the monitor hinge/portable handle and the wireless keyboard which blurr the portable versus desktop differences. It looked more like a AIO desktop on first look. There do appear to have many moving parts that could cause problems and break, especially for a portable. Ease of setup and exta size will have to be compared to a typical notebook in the category. Not easy to see this as a daily commuter, but may beat a desktop if needs to be move a few times a month. What's the battery life (if it has a battery, which I was unable to find)? What is the weight, heavy? If Alienware was involved in the design, it doesn't really show in terms of strangeness.

Wow! What a Dell! And look, the anodized articulating hinges double as a carrying handle ... I think.

That circle had me stumped until I checked out the tech specs. It's the CD/DVD. "Kids, now where do you put your game CD?"

"There, Daddy!"

"Oh! ... Gee, I thought it was the cup holder."
