I was riding a bike up a steep hill on a narrow road to a loch in Scotland a few years ago when somehow I pissed off one of the locals in a passing car. The car stopped and out jumped a little banty guy, who proceeded to yell at me in an incomprehensible dialect.

The only thing I could pick out was F-in' English basturd.

Eventually I convinced him I wasn't English but Canadian and he calmed down. I never did find out what he was pissed off at.

In any case, I had a wonderful hike around the loch once I got to the end of the road.

I ashamed to say, LT, that I'm not very patriotic. As far as I'm concerned there isn't much difference between NZers and our Oz cousins. They are a bit richer, a bit more confident, and a bit more outgoing. I quite like them. A shame about that little prick Howard.
