I really don't understand the philosophical background to it any more than I can say I understand the philosophical motivation of the Mafia. Furthermore, being non-religious myself, I see their motivation from a secular rather than a religious point of view, although it is clear that most of those involved, but not all, are Jewish. As far as I am concerned, therefore, it's simply about power, opportunism and theft rather than anything spiritual or transcendental. In a nutshell, they are gangsters.
