The only way the administration could have sustained the common ground of 9/12 would have been to limit its response to just those elements that the liberal Democrats believe in. In other words, Bush would have had to become a neo-McGovernite. His refusal to do so represents the real sin that Democrats and the MSM are alleging when they claim that Bush destroyed the post 9/11 Garden of Eden. What a load of hooy! And who cares about the authors (a-d) of silly Demo presidential criticisms? WHoo is this cretinous "POWERLINE" and why the sam hill doesn't somebody cut off their energy supplies? Bush made a huge mistake leading with the swooping right cross with the Military Industrial Complex to the jaw. He had the perfect chance to rebuild the CIA and its lost portfolio. A chance not likely to come again. McGovernite!!??? What unnecessary balderdash! Not even McGovern would have had a choice of doing any less! Hell Clinton got impeached just for being willing to lie to stay in office. How in heck could anybody have held the presidency with a turn the cheek response to 9/11? Why even bother making the ridiculous inference? But so what... its done now. Over. Its not coming back no matter what any Democrat or Republican says. The only thing worse than Pearl Harbor was the political finger pointing that followed it. Who knows how many lives it cost us at Midway, Wake Island and Bataan? I say mistakes happen and big countries make some real beauts. Sheesh... I'm going back to stew in my juices for a while.
