The answer at an obvious/superficial level is NO to both of your questions.

If you were a Native American however, you probably would not answer NO to both. It is, however, largely "game over" for the Native Americans. The link I gave about Indian Trust Funds may have looked "historic" to you, but it goes on to this day at the same fraudulent level.

If we want to talk at a different than ordinary level and ignore conventional history, it is possible to say that all conventional reality IN THE PRESENT MOMENT, as lived and experienced, is illusory-- a product of the mind, contracting/distorting living energy into egoically individually-varied patterns.

Seen from this viewpoint, history is just a chaos of "association-machine" linked delusions/illusions--but not all that much more crazy than conventional day-to-day delusion/illusion. Conventional history is whichever amongst that got the most spin/repetition, and that became the content of history books/official accounts. These days Governments take a very active role in that process.

I am not sure if that contributes anything to our discussion,
but if you want to focus on just THE PRESENT MOMENT, that's what I could say about it.

Namaste!
