yeah- unfortunatly I don't think this quarter is going to provide the clarity we might like. The mac lineup didn't materialize until too late into the quarter. What I really need to know to determine if apple is a buy is how many macs they sold in the month of june. Thats a much truer picture of the run rate, vs. the April and May quarters when there wasn't anything but speculation and a few products to sell.

Living near apple HQ I don't have any sense that this was a bad quarter. I really don't think they will miss. I heard the quarter was pretty good. But that could mean anything (just the mac biz or lowered expectations or anything).

I really would like Steve to be on this conf call to discuss the transition of apple from an ipod company to a mainstream PC company. I would like to know they strategy for the channel, Best buy vs. Apple stores etc. We won't hear much though.
