The anti ship missile that damaged the Israeli corvette was (according to IDF) a modified silkworm. Modified by Iran, and therefore had to be used with permission of Iran.

I guess I assume something is true if I hear it for 20 years in different fora and media and never hear it denied or disputed including in forums like AlJazeera. What level of proof are you looking for?

Israel clearly didn't start this conflict. Either Hizbullah did independently or on instruction from Iran. I don't see Iran doing anything in the Gulf unless there was a direct threat to them. It wouldn't fit their strategy up till now - what would it achieve? It is there ultimate weapon. I don't think they will use it to try to save the Lebanese...
