Hi Dave,

I don't think the author of that article was referring as much to spammers and potty mouths as much as he was referring to the "say nothing" posts on large volume threads.

Over on Yahoo!, I'd try to glean some useful information on say Intel, and you'd have to wade through hundreds and hundreds of posts that were saying nothing more than "I agree with George", or "Fred doesn't really comprehend the situation". While it's true that there were a bunch of potty mouths, and some amount of spam, by and large the bigger problem was people writing and not raising new questions or offering any insight. It was then, and still is today, one or two or five folks contributing good information, and 200 people parroting that same information. Sometimes it was more like magpies than parrots. That was, and still is, the reason I hang my hat on SI and not Yahoo!...

EK!!!
