I'd agree partially with that. We might have decided, by 1950, to write off a German controlled Europe minus England. Or, we might have nuked some German cities and forced their capitulation. It would have been an interesting situation post 1945, with the Germans possessing many advanced weapons such as jets, V-1's and V-2's ( in greater quantities without having to fight Russia ), but with us having the nukes. And who would Russia have been allied with if the Germans had not invaded?
