<You admit Saddam was a war criminal> Turning the US into war criminals was not the way to deal with him. There was no need to unilaterally invade Iraq and wiser people chose not to do it. It took a weak, poorly informed President to cave into the war lobby -- caving in to reckless fools who were so blinded by their ideology that they refused to grasp the consequences of this unilateral invasion. Now we have this tragic mess on on our hands and have achieved less than nothing, harming our own position, consigning Iraq to civil war, strengthening and emboldening Iran and trapping the vast majority of our own troops in Iraq -- it was and will remain the dumbest, most poorly planned and implemented military action in the history of the United States.
