So do you think they should eliminate the "up to 500k tax free gain on the sale of a primary residence"?

Prolly bring in another 50 billion (or would have).

Perhaps they will eliminate it in lieu of allowing a capital loss on the sale of a house.

If congress does eliminate the mortgage deduction and real estate deductions I will be living in a cardboard box for awhile. I'll have sold everything to short the homebuilders.
