..and you, Nadine, are just like Bill Kristol. A dual-loyalty (if even that) warmonger American who would just LOVE for America to commit to a long term even BIGGER, pointless (for America) quagmire war with Israel as our (perhaps only) ally!

Hi Nadine Carroll; Re: "Small wonder YOU like it. It's just your style."

Years ago I told you that the conservatives were going to dump Israel. You're going to have to dig yourself out of this latest hole by yourself.

By the way, has Hezbollah surrendered yet? Oh, air strikes didn't do the trick? Wonder how that could be, they worked so well at pacifying the locals in Iraq.

My guess is that Israel has a choice. They can quit and tacitly admit both a defeat and that bombing infrastructure and civilians in Lebanon was a policy mistake (basically they turned Lebanon back into prime terrorist territory), or they can call up the reserves, invade most of Lebanon, and then admit, much later, that invading Lebanon was a mistake too.

If you look at the trend in Israel's wars, they just don't keep getting better and better. That's not a good thing for a tiny country with only a few million people, surrounded by enemies, one that relies on the attraction of its peace and prosperity to provide the immigration needed to postpone the demographic catastrophe.

Just out of the idlest curiosity, can you come up with Chamberlain saying anything at all like that to Churchill? Or did you just pull that out of the usual place?

The "appeasement" chant was, of course, eternally popular here in the runup to the war of W's heart's desire. Saddam was just like Hitler, in the bizarre thought practices that pass for "facts and logic" among W's faithful. And now, 3+ years later, things are looking better than ever in Iraq, and the middle east in general. I'm sure in the one true W formulation of "personal responsibility", that's all somebody else's fault, though. The mess couldn't possibly be due to all the hare-brained people who just had to have an Iraq war.
