Again, I disagree. Harper's words seem to absolve Israel of blame or responsibility for its actions. If the G8 communique wanted to absolve Israel of blame, they could have said so explicitly, and it did not go nearly that far. Basically, they said Hamas and Hezbollah started it, which falls short of saying that using escalated violence against Lebanon in general was appropriate and justified or could be totally blamed on Hezbollah. If my kids fight, the fact that one "started it" does not absolve the other of any responsibility for escalating the fight and responding inappropriately.
