Thanks for taking the time to explain. The reason I asked is a friend of mine just sold her house in maybe 3 hours from when the sign went up for the listing price and the agent never even had an open house or really did much ( of course she did things behind the scenes).

This agent is a big profile agent in this area and I was talking to my friend and we were wondering what this agent did to justify 6 percent.

Considering how quickly it sold we got to wondering if my friend could have sold it herself using a lawyer for the paperwork and avoiding 6 percent.
