"Hizballah failure means Syrian regime change is now in sight."

you mean the Islamic brotherhood is going to take over in Syria soon? i'm sure everybody will be relieved when that happens.

you sure have a penchant for exaggeration. as far as i can tell, gold is at 646,60 - iow, a price range that is among the highest in 26 years.
as an aside, the only legitimate reason for gold to rise is falling confidence in the monetary system. 'troubles in the Middle East' are not per se a fundamental factor that should influence the gold price. only if those troubles lead to a wider war, and as a consequence to monetary inflation, is there a good reason for gold to rise.

"No I'm not a nazi from antartica or a reptile alien as you seem to associate.."

at first i was relieved to hear this, but upon reflection i recalled that most of the alien reptiles are programmed not to realize that the're alien reptiles. it helps their cover. you urgently need to see a reptile unmasking specialist to make 100% sure. the Antarctica nazis are said to have one or two in employ ( after landing at the Queen Maud land coast take a sharp left at the third iceberg and walk for about 1,500 miles. it's the igloo with the swastika flag stuck on top, you can't miss it ) .

if/when she becomes president, many neo-cons will all of a sudden become neo-libs. it will be great fun watching the reaction of Republican supporters when their heroes suffer yet another loyalty spasm. the Trotskyists and Stalinists are still shock-and-awed that such dependable fellow leftist authoritarian luminaries as Horowitz could move to the far right in a single leap. well, no problem there. as in Dr.Frank'n'furter's song:

"It's just a jump to the left
And then a step to the right
With your hands on your hips
You bring your knees in tight

Let's do the Time Warp again
Let's do the Time Warp again"

counter-comment: the ONLY party in Iraq interested in a 'continued US presence' is the puppet regime ( since it wouldn't survive on its own ) . this is confirmed by every poll that has been taken in Iraq over the past 2 years. secondly, these days, it appears Shi'ite death squads ( both under the interior ministry and independent militia ) are just as prevalent as Sunni fighters of various stripes. the fact that they were and are outnumbered has never stopped the Sunnis before. they may be outnumbered in Iraq proper, but not on the Arabian peninsula as a whole.
all that said, short term alliances of convenience, even with foreign 'infidel' invaders, are always possible, but usually not durable. as Hector Cyr would say, they're hiding such information in history books.
