hi michael97123; Re: "When you say they will either "fish or cut bait" i assume what you mean by "fishing" is a WW2 outcome, collateral damage be damned."

No, Israel has never been involved in a "WW2" type all out war. They've always been fairly easy on civilians. And it should be mentioned that Israel has never, well at least in the last few thousand years, obtained an absolute victory of the sort that characterized WW2.

Re: "Maybe hizbollah needs to be dismantled as a lesson to hamas, not to mention syria and even iran."

This is easy to say (though you might try capitalizing proper nouns someday), but Israel has no way of doing this. Years of operations in Gaza never dismantled Hamas and years of operations in Lebanon never dismantled Hezbollah.

I've gone on at length about this on the thread for years. The task you're talking about is impossible for a modern civilized military force. Fighting guerillas with strong civilian support is like nailing jelly to a tree. Those who didn't know this are learning it in Iraq.

By the way, did you notice that Turkey is threatening to invade Iraq? It seems that a couple dozen Turks have been killed by Kurds in the past months, and this is over their limit.
