The real question is what are the true intentions of Iran. Is it a country as sun says looking for acceptance and a grand deal or is it a competitor with al quaeda for the axis of evil leader? Answers usually are found in the middle and perhaps the harsh israeli reply to the hizbollah assault is a wake up call for moderates there among the mullahs. If they in fact gave the order to hizbollah i have to believe they thought there would be a controlled tit for tat border war rather than something more. Perhaps the more radical have been discredited to some degree. Just a guess Chris.

Dexter Filkins on "Fresh Air" today worth a listen also. Here we are in Iraq training 200,000 Iraqis (mostly Shia with probably strong loyalties to Sadr who has close ties to Hizbolla) who are now killing every Sunni they arrest for "questioning". And oh BTW, Sadr has one of most dominant representation in that wondrous "democratic" government we created, that hides in the Green Zone government And oh yes, Sadr and rest of Shia have strong ties to Iran. Filkins on Iraq today..."horrible, anarchic, civil war...". It is so insane and Max Boot says "stay the course". The man is such a flaming idiot. My gosh, he worked for the WSJ editorial page. Odom at the beginning of this Bush, get revenge for the family, craziness said this will be the worst and we will create many, many terrorists. Hell, we are not only creating them, our taxpayer dollars are training them!
