Pretty SURE GZ can speak for himself... and that wasn't what he said, anyway. He claimed that "...clinton was disbanding the military", which is patently ridiculous just based upon the evidence of the annual military FUNDING and STAFFING levels. As far as what YOU seem to want to talk about "shutting down bases all over the country" --- that can actually ENHANCE our military STRENGTH (if you listen to possibly the world's greatest authority on closing unneeded or wasteful bases: Secretary Rumsfeld). By shutting out-moded or not needed bases, vast amounts of money can be saved for REAL NEEDS of our military. Efficiency is always important.... (And anyway: we go through rounds of military base realignments every 15 years or so. It's NORMAL. And, wasn't a FAR LARGER round of base closing overseen during the Reagan years? :-)
