Who besides me is itching to buy a new computer but is waiting for MSFT's new Vista first? I got an flyer from DELL last week and every computer was advertised as Vista capable but of course Microsoft still has not nailed down a final release date.

I don't want to pay extra for new software when it can already be preloaded next year. So despite the fact that I've got plenty of cash and INTC and AMD both are building some fine chips for new computers I'm waiting to buy a new computer.

Of course this computer is working fine anyway!

But new toys are almost always fun.

Still, I think a lot of people will wait for Vista. I think this could impact earnings for a number of stocks. I think this year earning estimates will fall short of previous growth expectations due to a lot of reasons. The FED raising rates is certainly the most important but there are other reasons to think that earnings will fall short of current expectations.
