Toyota: Not interested in GM alliance
Toyota Motor Corp. has not initiated discussions with General Motors Corp. about a possible alliance between the two companies, a top U.S. Toyota official said Monday.

"We're sitting on the sidelines watching this like all of the other automakers," Jim Press, president of Toyota's North America unit, said Monday night during a dinner with reporters.

His comments followed an official statement released earlier Monday by Toyota that was the automaker's first public response to speculation that it was pursuing a tie-up of its own with GM as an alternative to GM aligning with Renault SA and Nissan Motor Co.

"Our investigation reveals no discussions with GM have been initiated by Toyota and we can only conclude that there is no substance" to the speculation, Toyota said in the statement.

The Main Flaw in the Deflation Case

A poster on my blog said Saville was referring to me.
321gold.com

I hope so but Saville did not say.
I think it unlikely given that I have not used the word deflation ever in my life until a couple years ago.

I suspect he is taking a well deserved swipe at Prechter.
If he is also taking a swipe at newcommers to this idea then perhaps I should be flattered.

I have been in correspondence with Saville so it is possible that my blogger is correct. Somehow I doubt it.
