I think Bush is happy to have something to take the total clusterf*ck of Iraq off the front pages, where the body count is now averaging over 100 a DAY.

And everybody is also calling for the disarming of Hezbollah, so calling for something don't really matter much. Actions count, words are for the UN....

I saw Madeleine Albright on TV last night... even she isn't calling for an immediate cease fire.

I agree, with one caveat. The U.S. House of Representatives voted 410-8 to support Israel's attack. So, "the protagonists" includes a very large group of people.
