a19: Your Red Sox are looking very good right now (and kid Papelbon is something special)...Clapster's Yankees must be taken seriously - all they need is to generate the lead late in a big game and then they have THE CLOSER to take care of business <G>...The Tigers game on ESPN tonight could be a good one...It's true that the Tigers have struggled with the Sox, and if they continue to do so they won't win their division, and certainly won't advance far in the postseason. But that pitching match up last night definitely favored the Sox; tonight it definitely favors the Tigers. Plus, word is that Dmitri Young, a talented left-hand bat who's been out for a couple of months, is about to be activated from his AAA rehab assignment (he's hitting well over .400 there). That will make a huge difference for the Tigers. Soriano would be an obvious asset too, but he won't be easy to get...I have a hunch that the Tigers' GM Dave Dombrowski will be making a trade for a big bat -- sooner rather than later.
