BTW, if one were to try to put things into perspective, why is there so much sympathy for the common people in Israel and so little sympathy for the common people in Iraq in the aftermath of a war that was brought about by neo-cons Wolfowitz and Perle? Lou Dobbs for CNN makes this quote:

"An estimated 50,000 Iraqis and more than 2,500 American troops have been killed since the insurgency began in March of 2003, which by some estimates is more than the number of dead on both sides of the Arab-Israeli conflict over the past 58 years of wars and intifadas...

In the Middle East, where is our sense of proportion? Where is our sense of perspective? Where is our sense of decency? And, finally, just how smart are we?"

Ichy, I think that the threat to Jewish people, although real, is extremely exaggerated.

But if you lived in Israel, you would think anything to stop the killing. Anything so I don't spend my days in fear. No price the Arabs pay can be too high, if you are an Israeli. And I am sure the Arabs see it the same way. It is easy to philosophize when you are sitting in a nice safe place with 3 square meals and relatively safe streets. Look at the hysteria in the US after 9/11. Imagine living with that for 50 or 60 or 80 years. Neither side is rational at this point. Since Iran and Syria seem to be behind this, Iran provided the missiles, perhaps they deserve to be bombed back into the stone age as a deterrent. Perhaps as a suggestion the UN should find out who is supplying the Hezbollah and in the case of Iran fire the 11,000 missiles, which you tell me do very little damage into Tehran..... That seems just....And once Israel kills off the Hezbollah I think they should offer to help rebuild Lebanon

re: although real, is extremely exaggerated

well, let me see, the destruction of Israel and all of its citizens? I wonder how one can "extremely exaggerate" the extermination?
