Perhaps Afghanistan should also be split up then.

I tend to disagree, although I see the merit in the argument of "dividing and conquering" RHETORICALLY SPEAKING and making them weaker so they are not unified by groups such as the Taliban.

But I just don't think it will stop the bloodshed. Afghanistan was effectively in a state of anarchy, with each warlord ruling their own little segment, after the Russians departed. And all they did was kill one another.

And eventually one groups would grow strong enough to dominate the others, either internally, or with outside support from a non-US government and the cycle will begin again.

People have GOT TO LEARN EVENTUALLY to settle their differences non-violently. They need to stop being so tribal and think along the lines of common ideas and values.

That's what holds the US together, IMO.. A respect for commonly held values of individual freedom and human rights.

The US IS the world, since we have people from all over the globe living here in relative peace and harmony. We still aren't perfect, though, but we ARE an example that diversity strengthens a nation/state. Ethnic divisiveness only results in weakness, distrust, and hostility.
