Hizbullah arose because of a need not because of Syria or Iran. Syria and Iran saw an opportunity and took advantage of it.

What need? To perpetuate a war against Israel?

Israel did everything that was demanded of it by the UN and Europe. They removed their troops from Lebanon and what did they get in return??

An even more dangerous enemy (considering the quantity of rockets and their range).

I dont think the history is pertinent anymore when it comes to the mideast. Bottom line is that hamas and hizbollah have to recognize the right of israel to exist even if actual geography comes later. Neither can deny that right and pile up missiles to lob on israel and expect not to get hit. Its a matter of survival for israel not to be asleep at the wheel which apparently they have been. The Arab states need to control their fanatics even if it means retreat from democracy. Hizbolla and Hamas should be treated as neo nazis are in germany and not given the platform they get. The situation needs stabilization and mutual recognition and the establishemtn of relations--particularly economic that benefit all parties. Arabs need to be welcomed into the 21st century and Israels must be accepted as an independent, predominately jewish nation within the arab sea.

Puts the cart before the horse. Israel's intransigence opened up for the PLO. PLO's corruption opened up for Hamas and Hizbullah.

Hawks claims about Syria & Iran with Hezbullah is like claiming ZANU & ZAPU in Rhodesia were the result of Russia & China. LOL!
