At that time, it was only those who opposed Saddam who could find themselves in trouble.

But under Dumbya, one could be just walking along the street and get blown up!

Yes, things in Iraq are much "better" now. It is an equal opportunity killing field now. Thanks to Dumbya!

We may actually miss Saddam Hussein soon. if Iraqi powerhouse Al sadr takes over the country in league with Iran that's a lot worse for us than Saddam was. Remember, Iran may have nukes. But Saddam didn't even have a nuclear program. Which is why the Niger Yellowcake lie was so important. That one lie got a lot of good US troops killed.

At least Saddam was secular and not a religious nut. And we know see why Saddam was so brutal, because he had to be. Holding that crazy country together took a cruel iron hand. In fact we emulated Saddam at Abu Graib, didn't we?

Saddam was a big-time bad guy and a menace, but not an imminent threat and more of a rightwing thug than anything else. He greatly admired Reagan and was not allied with Islamic terrorists. He rarely if ever used their methods.
