Think you are bombarded by advertising now. You’ve underestimated the creative minds at work to sell you something.

The Associated Press: “US Airways wants to make the most out of a nauseating situation. The Tempe, Ariz.-based airline plans to sell advertisements on its air-sickness bags — those pint-sized expandable envelopes tucked between the in-flight magazines and safety cards.

The New York Times: CBS plans to laser imprints of its trademark eye insignia, as well as logos for some of its shows, on eggs — 35 million of them in September and October. CBS’s copywriters are referring to the medium as “egg-vertising,” hinting at the wordplay they have in store. Some of their planned slogans: “CSI” (“Crack the Case on CBS”); “The Amazing Race” (“Scramble to Win on CBS”); and “Shark” (“Hard-Boiled Drama.”).”

Barf bags and eggs are now taken. But surely we can come up with some overlooked places. Where do you suggest for ads? A great idea - and an empty space - is a terrible thing to waste.

How ‘bout putting ads on the back of the airline seats… people have to sit there staring at them for some number of hours in the air. Removing those Airphones has freed up a bunch of space there. Personally, I’ve never seen (or heard) anyone actually using the air sickness bag so I don’t know how many people will actually see ads on those.

I’m still traumatized from the ads on the handle of the gas pumps. Can’t I have a minute to myself? If they put ads on the back of airplane seats I will cover it up. That is my time!

Of all the airlines, US Air is my least favorite. On one trip, I heard them referred to as “Useless Airways”. I couldn’t agree more.

Maybe they should try things like making sure their planes work, keeping customers informed of flight schedule delays, and good customer service before they sell ads on barf bags.

Has anyone seen the video/audio at some food stores now? Right at the pump encouraging you to use fuel additives. I can’t hit that “mute” button quickly enough.

Why don’t we put ads on traffic lights? That way you get a 2 minute non-audio (hopefully) video billboard that counts down the time before the light changes. I’d also like to see reality shows on trash cans - where I think they belong.

We have taught our children to always distrust ads especially political ads,as they are usually 99.8% boolsheet.Ads on eggs doesn’t bother me,if they reduce the price of the eggs.Advertising aimed at me is a waste of money,however it must be effective with the Kool aid crowd because the companys spend major money on it every year

I truly hate the level of saturation that advertising has achieved. I am one of those people who would be completely willing to pay a couple of dollars more to have the option of going to a movie theater without ads.
