Until about 6 days ago, Lebanon was believed to be again a stable democracy and a civilized nation. They had no reason to think otherwise.

Oh?? They've had an assassination of a prominent political leader, the Syrians were forced out under humilitating circumstances and they have a armed militia with over 6,000 highly motivated fanatical fighters UNWILLING to submit to the authority of the central Lebanese government..

Now maybe you call that stable, but I sure as hell don't.

Sorry to hear this, Hawk. I hope they get out quickly and with no problems.

I think they will be alright. They're not exposed to the bombing campaign (and that's all feel comfortable saying until they are out of the country).

But I believe they will think twice before they return to see his folks.
