Well, MY PATIENCE has worn thin. As an American taxpayer I am getting SICK AND TIRED of wasting Billions on these Arabs with absolutely nothing I can see to show for it. The old saying, "You can lead a horse to water, but you cant make him drink" seems more true then ever regarding Arab nations. This could lead to another old saying, "to get a mules attention, you hit him over the head with a 2x4". jdn

VDH: "So in the meantime, let us hope that democracy prevails in Iraq, that our massive aid is actually appreciated by the Middle East, that diplomacy ultimately works with Iran, that Syria quits supporting terrorists, and that Hamas and Hezbollah cease their rocket attacks against Israel -- more for all their sakes than ours."

I totally agree with this essay. Do YOU think there is any HOPE of the above happening?
Notice the consequences noted in the essay if not.

There seems to be a criticism of the president of being a COMPASSIONATE president, who is pursuing a MODERATE policy from the CENTER by attempting to solve the terrorist problem by offering the people of the Middle East Democracy and membership in the secular global economy rather than a Left (appease) or Right (punish) solution. Note he is spending our treasure and kids on this affair. Nancy P. says this is not worth any of our kids lives. Doubtful she would like the quick and dirty route? Is there ANYONE prominent in the government accusing the President of being SOFT on TERROR?

We have TWO CHOICES:

1) RUN AND HIDE (a short term viable option, some believe there is an acceptable level of risk, say 1 major city each 4 years)

or

2) FIGHT (bad news for the muslim population, and bad for our reputation)

The MIDDLE GROUND promoting DEMOCRACY is a FAILURE according to the LEFT AND MSM. (You can't change cultures fast enough.)

Will President Bush be looked on in History as TOO SOFT by pursuing the CENTER?
