Elroy, what's the future where Israel "goes away"? I see no prospect of this whatsoever. Israel would nuke every Arab nation that tried to bring that about first. It's why they HAVE the nukes.

Don't get me wrong, I think Israel shouldn't have been founded where it was. I also think we shouldn't have committed genocide on the native Americans here, but it doesn't change the present.

Sometimes you just have to accept what IS, and move on into the future.

The sad thing is the Lebanon represents an American ideals of the way a country should be - multi-ethnic and trying to integrate everyone into an open society regardless ofan individual's ethnicity or religion, and Lebanon is getting blown to kingdom come.
