I see that we are stubbornly clinging onto this subject...If that is the way it is...can someone tell me what contributions arabs have made to humanity? ie., what is the the ratio of nobel laureates of Jews verses the arab world?

Well, they did give the world those swoopy clothes so that even ugly women are a mystery. and numbers I think they gave us numbers. and lebanese hash, and Omar Sharif, and they gave us a place to put the French Foreign Legion, so that France had a place to keep the guys who could fight in case the Germans attacked, and well I think the desert inspired the Dune Series, and all those romantic movies from my childhood about Desert Nomads and Larry of Arabia..... and Camels they showed us that Camels actually could be useful and Genies in bottles and Sinbad, and well that is all I can think of..... oh and it gave us a place for Humphrey Bogart to look fabulous and say "play it Sam... " in Ricks american Bar.....

This is not a popularity contest. It is about right and wrong. If a surgeon takes out a gun and shoots a homeless person, the fact that he has a fine profession does not really change whether or not he has the right to shoot someone. Not only would it be wrong to say that what the surgeon does is OK, whoever made that judgement would be judged themselves. We as Canadians will be judged for Mr. Harper saying that it is OK for Israel to ravage Lebanon.

Numbers, Algebra and a whole host of scientific contributions that would have been lost due to the dark ages... Then sometime in the 13th century I think it was something happened to reverse that trend... sadly...
