It's even worse when the majority silently allows them to, either because they believe the anti-Israel lies or because they fear reprisal.

Israel allows Jews from Cuba to immigrate and get all the benefits of citizenship, and denies that right to non-Jews born in territory it has occuppied for 30 years. The sole determination is the Jewishness (or lack thereof) of the person's mother. That's not a lie, that's institutionalized discrimination.
